Reporting to Alex Stoian, Design Lead.

Working in the Marketing Design team (team of two).

Are you a Staff-level designer who wants genuine influence over how a product is understood and experienced on the web? Do you do your best work when you have the freedom to work flexibly, make your own decisions, and turn loosely defined ideas into experiences that drive engagement and conversion?

You’ll be joining a small, experienced team shaping high-impact landing pages across spoke.com for products used by courier companies, drivers, and retailers, working across brand, product, and growth to make complex workflows feel clear, intuitive, and commercially strong on the web.

We’re deliberately light on process to give you the space to shape your own approach, decide when something is ready to ship, and raise the standard of web design over time rather than chasing perfection.

If this feels like your kind of team and the kind of challenge you enjoy, we’d really love to hear from you.

What You Will Be Doing Day To Day

  • Own the design of high-impact landing pages across spoke.com, helping drive engagement and conversion for both our B2B and B2C products
  • Take loosely defined ideas or opportunities and shape them into web experiences that feel clear, thoughtful, and commercially strong
  • Look at data and real user behaviour to refine what we ship and spot opportunities to make it better
  • Design and evolve reusable web components, strengthening the quality and consistency of our visual system over time
  • Work closely with Product Marketing and others to turn complex features into stories that actually make sense to customers
  • Raise the standard of web craft across the company through the quality and care you bring to your work

What you won’t be doing

  • Having lots of meetings. On average, you can expect around one per week, leaving us time for deep, focused work and allowing us to work flexibly around our lives.
  • Rushing to meet an arbitrary deadline. You’ll be part of a team that cares about quality and thoughtful iteration.
  • Managing people. This is an individual contributor role, where you will manage projects and give (and receive) feedback, but you won’t have a team to manage.
  • Working in a heavily layered team. We’re small and flat, which means strategy and execution sit side by side.

Job Requirements

  • You’ve spent several years designing interactive web experiences and leading projects from idea through to launch.
  • You’re comfortable across visual design, UI, and interaction, and you use motion thoughtfully rather than decoratively.
  • You care about the craft. You’ll tweak spacing, rethink hierarchy, or refine an interaction because it makes the experience better.

A bit about us

Back in 2017, we saw an issue with last-mile delivery. Delivery drivers have a complicated and stressful job, and although delivery software existed, it neglected the driver experience. We set out to create the app that puts drivers first.

We were astounded by the response we received. Drivers told us their job was far less stressful, and they got home earlier every day. Within our first year, we had almost 1,000 customers, $100k in ARR, and a team consisting of our two co-founders, Jack and Pol. Now, with a lean team of ~50 talented people, we’ve grown to $25M ARR, helping over 100,000 drivers deliver more than 1.4 billion packages worldwide; that’s about 40 every second.

Hiring Process

Our hiring process for this role has three stages and usually takes around two weeks from the first interview to offer. No lengthy take-home assignments or time-consuming prep - we’re happy to see work you’ve already done and move quickly.

You’ll meet a few of our team members along the way, and everyone you meet will be happy to answer any questions you have to help you get to know us, too.

Meet our TA Manager

You’ll have a 45-minute video call with our Talent Acquisition Manager, Sadie. She will tell you more about Spoke and ask questions to help get to know you, too.

Meet the hiring manager

You’ll meet our Marketing Design Lead, Alex, and take her through a recent project in Figma that showcases your skills for designing interactive web experiences.

Meet the CEO

You’ll have a 30-minute final video call with our Founder and CEO, Jack, an informal chat, and an opportunity for you to meet.

If you have the skills and experience we’ve talked about in this job ad, and Spoke sounds like the kind of place you’d like to work, we would love to hear from you.
