SPOKE is a menswear brand that gives him a look that's considered, yet effortless, because the product has real substance, it styles easily, and the fit is built around him from the start. We're based in Richmond, where the London skyline meets lush, leafy greens — and we've built a loyal following on one promise: Ridiculously Well Fit, or your money back.

The role

We're looking for an Art Director to join our Brand team and take ownership of campaigns and ecommerce photography from brief to delivery. This is a hands‑on creative role. You'll be the person driving our visual output, working closely with the VP of Brand Marketing and collaborating with a small in‑house creative team, including a Creative Producer who'll handle the logistics so you can stay focused on the work. This isn't a role for someone who wants to hand briefs over a wall. You'll be across every stage of the creative process: concept, direction, shoot, and post. What we need is someone with a clear point of view, the energy to maintain it at volume, and the conviction to hold the standard.

What You'll Do

  • Campaigns: This is where you get to define how Spoke looks and feels to the world. You'll bring genuine creative vision to every campaign. Not just executing ideas, but originating them. We care about substance: the quality of light, the choice of location, the way a garment drapes on a model. The details matter here, and you'll be the person holding the standard.
  • Lead creative development on seasonal and evergreen campaigns, from initial concept through to final delivery.
  • Translate brand strategy and positioning into compelling visual concepts with a clear, confident point of view.
  • Art direct still and video shoots, both in‑studio and on location, with close attention to every creative detail.
  • Own the shot list, mood boards, and creative direction documents that set the tone for every shoot.
  • Push the standards. Ask whether it's good enough. Have the conviction to say when it isn't.

The ecommerce photography library

Our website is our flagship store. For most of our customers, it's the only Spoke they'll ever walk into. That makes our product photography as creatively important as anything else we produce, and we treat it that way. Consistency, craft, and a genuinely considered approach to how each garment is lit, styled, and shot. These aren't nice‑to‑haves. They're the job.

  • Art direct ecommerce shoots with the same rigour you would bring to campaign work, because our customers don't distinguish between them.
  • Build and maintain a clear visual language for product photography: lighting, styling, composition, mood.
  • Work closely with photographers and stylists to deliver a library that's consistent at scale, not just beautiful in isolation.
  • Review selects with a sharp eye, ensuring every image earns its place.

Team and collaboration

  • Work closely with the Lead Digital Designer and copywriter to align campaign creative with channel execution.
  • Feed briefs and assets to the wider team in a way that sets them up to do their best work.
  • Contribute to building a creative culture defined by our brand values: substance, ease, and wit.

Requirements

What we're looking for:

  • 3-5 years of art direction experience, ideally in-house at a fashion or lifestyle brand (agency background considered).
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating campaign concepting and ecommerce or product photography direction.
  • Sharp visual instincts and a clear point of view. You know what good looks like and you won't let it slide.
  • The energy and stamina to deliver great work at volume, not just on hero campaigns.
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to stay calm when deadlines stack up.
  • A collaborator who communicates clearly and works well in a small, focused team.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving DTC environment where priorities can shift.

Nice to have:

  • Experience directing menswear or tailoring shoots.
  • A genuine passion for menswear.
  • Familiarity with ecommerce image standards and post‑production workflows.
  • Exposure to motion or video direction.

Benefits

  • Private Healthcare Plan.
  • Pension Plans.
  • Work From Home.
  • Training & Development.
