About SPM Instrument

For more than 50 years, SPM Instrument has helped industry keep critical rotating machinery running, from the invention of the Shock Pulse Method to today's patented HD technologies, Intellinova online systems and Condmaster software. Our customers in mining, pulp and paper, water and wider process industries rely on us to protect their assets. More and more, they also want us to help them run those assets better.

The role

This role is central to growing SPM's process optimisation offering in the UK. You'll help customers get more from their processes, not just keep machines healthy. That means improving grinding efficiency in tumbling mills, the performance of vibrating screens, cutting quality in woodchippers, and energy efficiency in centrifugal pumps.

Working with our technical, sales and Remote Diagnostic Centre (RDC) teams, you'll take customers from first assessment through to sustained, measurable improvement. You'll also turn SPM's HD and vibration data into practical operating decisions.

Key responsibilities

Process assessments: lead on-site studies and baseline measurements of customer processes.

Identify where throughput, energy use, yield or quality can be improved.

Application delivery: specify, install, configure and commission process optimisation solutions.

These include tumbling mill charge and toe monitoring, vibrating screen motion analysis,

woodchipper knife-condition monitoring, and centrifugal pump efficiency monitoring.

Data analysis: use vibration, SPM HD, HD ENV and Condmaster to interpret process and machine data. Build dashboards and recommend changes to operating parameters, such as feed rate, screen set-up and knife change intervals.

Customer partnership: present findings and business cases to operations, maintenance and management teams. Then follow up to confirm the gains have been delivered.

Proving value: quantify results (throughput, kWh/tonne, rejects, kWh/ML, availability). Turn them into case studies and reference sites that support sales growth.

Sales support: work with the sales engineers on technical pre-sales, demonstrations, proposals

and scopes of work.

RDC integration: help build process optimisation into SPM's Remote Diagnostic Centre services as a recurring offering.

Knowledge sharing: contribute to SPM Academy training, internal upskilling and feedback to SPM product development.
