THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Completions Engineer will be responsible for well abandonment design and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of decommissioning operations.
Duration: 6 months
Location: Aberdeen office based.
Please be aware that we require candidates available to commence the contract within the next few weeks.
Spirit Energy currently have a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for all office-based workers. 4 days must be worked in the office with compulsory days being Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The fourth day worked in-office (either Monday or Friday) is of the worker’s choosing but should be in keeping with what is most efficient and effective for their team. The office is open 5 days a week for full time, in-office working if this is the contractor’s preference.
AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT…
In role you will be accountable for:
- Planning completion and intervention aspects for well abandonment projects.
- Ensuring projects are planned in full compliance with corporate policies, standards, procedures and guidelines and relevant regulatory requirements and are executed safely and efficiently.
- Preparation of abandonment programmes.
- Participating in the operational support duty rota and providing operational cover as required.
- Applying appropriate techniques and processes to drive performance through benchmarking and data analysis.
- Ensuring appropriate peer reviews, risk assessments and assurance reviews are held for each well project with actions closed out accordingly.
- Interfacing effectively with other teams e.g. subsurface, projects, supply chain, finance to safely and successfully deliver the project.
- Contributing to the required time and cost estimates and performance tracking for each project phase.
- Supporting the contractor management process by developing highly positive relationships with contractors and suppliers. Ensuring contractor delivery against KPIs/scorecards.
- The capture and close-out of lessons learnt and analysis of NPT events, and for the preparation and submission of end of well reports.
ABOUT YOU…
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A thorough understanding of completion installation operations and tooling.
- A focus on delivery.
- A strong attitude to HSE and associated behaviours.
- Sound commercial awareness: project financing and cost control principles. Demonstrating an innovative approach, to ensure cost-effective, safe and environmentally acceptable engineering solutions.
- Well-developed communication skills and be capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Experience of risk management techniques and processes.
Certification: Candidates must be fully certified by a recognised Well Control Authority e.g. Level 4 IWCF, WELLCAP.
