THE OPPORTUNITY – SENIOR ROTATING EQUIPMENT ENGINEER, ABERDEEN
The role of a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer is to deliver the ambition of sustainably top quartile safe and reliable operations. This is achieved by providing expert discipline knowledge and advice to the onshore / offshore teams to meet business objectives.
Duration: 12 months core role
PAYE Contract Rate: TBC

Spirit Energy currently have a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for all office-based workers (Aberdeen and Barrow). 4 days must be worked in the office with compulsory days being Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The fourth day worked in-office (either Monday or Friday) is of the worker’s choosing but should be in keeping with what is most efficient and effective for their team. The office is open 5 days a week for full time, in-office working if this is the contractor’s preference.
In role, you will be accountable for:
- Driving equipment and system availability through the proactive mitigation of equipment and system degradation
- Actively supporting front line operations and the development/execution of plans for medium to long term maintenance
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with the Spirit Energy philosophy, UK safety, environmental and quality systems.
- Continually reviewing the effectiveness of working practices and systems to increase reliability / availability of rotating equipment
- Ensuring all rotating equipment activities are inputted into the integrated activity plan and maintenance management system.
- Helping to manage and reduce backlog
- Managing vendor support to deliver work safely, on time and cost effectively.
- Contract management of key service contracts.
- Suggesting, reviewing and approving MOC’s as required
- Supporting or undertaking failure and incident investigation / RCA implementing actions to remove faults and improve reliability.
- Reviewing and accepting/rejecting deviations to codes, standards, practices, and guidelines
- Reviewing and endorsing MEDIUM ORA’s.
- Checking and approving changes to critical documents including P&ID’s.
- Supporting the ranking and management of facilities risks.
- Closing out or verifying actions (e.g. Events, MyHSES etc).
- Identifying and endorsing shutdown activities.
- Implementing the Performance Standards to delivery of safety critical and routine maintenance.
- Actively support an Incident Free Workplace mindset.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive engineering and operations experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas industry
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of a variety of rotating Equipment, including Gas Turbines, Centrifugal, axial and reciprocating compressors and pumps and their associated packages and support systems.
- High level of technical and engineering competence.
- Good communicator and influencer, able to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to review and analyse information effectively.
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject
