Role Purpose: To apply a broad range of accounting skills and experience to support both local and US reporting requirements for working capital, supply chain costs and forecasts. To provide professional financial forecasting, analysis and commentary and be the point of contact for all supply chain related queries.
This opportunity, based at our Prestwick site offers:
- 37 hour working week (half day Friday)

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and review working capital reporting packs required for onward internal and group reporting purposes.
- Support and maintain the financial modelling framework to support the quarterly business forecasting process.
- Assist in challenging and analysing inputs from the functions based on quarterly inputs for supply chain, material and aircraft general supplies.
- Hold monthly reviews with the relevant supply chain management personnel to assess performance against annual operating plan and forecasts.
- Hold people accountable for actions.
- Check and review all cost variations reports coming through to ensure these are incorporated to bills of material.
- Review and address Purchase Price Variances with the SCM team on a monthly basis.
- Perform regular review and reconciliation of SAP Bill of Material to Blue Book.
- Be the finance focal for Supplier Claims, liaising with SCM team on status and progress of claims on suppliers.
- Prepare complex and detailed financial performance reports for both Spirit Europe and US Corporate audiences.
- Handle large volumes of data and consolidate and report this data effectively through the utilisation of strong IT skills.
- Liaise with all external parties (Auditors, Customers, Suppliers) as required by the role.
- Ensure the overall integrity of financial reporting information for business performance: Annual budget and quarterly forecasting review and analysis.
- Supply chain performance to budget/forecast.
- Analyse and provide commentary in a timely and accurate manner for the incurred cost team in the US and local SLC.
- Support the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process through analysis of quarter to quarter variances.
- Drive continuous improvement in data and system integrity and process adherence.
- Develop strong and productive working relationships with the wider organisation to ensure information incorporated into EAC’s is correct, current and has full buy-in from the organisation.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified with relevant experience
- Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or studying towards
- Good communication skills
- Excellent IT Skills – particularly Excel & TM1
- Using knowledge and experience to promote process improvement
- Effective relationship management skills
Decision Making Authority: Would be expected to make regular decisions that ensure the role functions efficiently – e.g. day to day work planning, prioritisation. Also would expect some degree of autonomous decision making on appropriate accounting skills/practices to adopt in certain circumstances.
