Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF THE JOB To fabricate quality details and assemblies to satisfy customer requirements by means of forming, welding and fitting.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Fabricating details/assemblies from various materials to required specifications and standards.
- Being familiar with relevant plant and equipment required to carry out tasks.
- Maintaining certified status (aerospace welding) where required including provision of test pieces for CAA compliance.
- Having a working knowledge of shop floor control systems.
- Working within Health and Safety Regulations.
Qualifications
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential
- Candidates must have completed a recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline AND A minimum of 2 years’ relevant post apprenticeship experience in one or more of the following areas: fitting, tig welding, panel beating or metal fabrication, using one or more of the following materials: titanium, inconel, aluminium or stainless steel.
- Candidates must be experienced in the use of plant and machinery used in the fabrication process and understand engineering drawings and process sheets.
Desirable
- Relevant tig-welding experience within the last 5 years
- Candidates will preferably have a City and Guilds Part 1 or 2, or an NVQ level 3 in an engineering discipline.
