An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR professional to join the Human Resources Division as an HR Business Partner for the University of Cambridge. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with senior leaders and colleagues, providing expert HR advice and operational support across a broad range of people-related matters, including employee relations, organisational change, workforce initiatives and project delivery.

You will act as a trusted HR partner, supporting managers and stakeholders in delivering effective people solutions aligned to organisational objectives. The role involves advising on employment law, complex case management and organisational change, while contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the division. You will also support and coach colleagues on complex people matters, helping to develop effective working relationships and promoting best practice across the wider HR function.

Permanent Hybrid

Salary: £42,254- £56,535 per annum

Requirements

  • Substantial HR experience within either a generalist or specialist environment, including employment law, case management and organisational change
  • Experience of applying project management methodologies to deliver projects to time and quality, including leading HR input on small to medium sized projects
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring and/or managing professional HR staff, with the ability to support colleagues on complex people matters
  • Strong management and leadership skills, demonstrated through a positive, flexible and collaborative approach
  • Customer-focused mindset, with commitment to innovation, continuous learning and development
  • Ability to analyse complex issues, develop innovative solutions and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise reports and analyse qualitative and quantitative data
  • IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Office applications and HR systems

Desirable

  • Experience of advising and influencing senior managers on HR strategy and practice
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels to support organisational delivery
