We are supporting an East Midlands based Council with an interim Senior Planning Officer opportunity. The role is to work across the Planning Policy function area. The successful postholder will fulfil allocated tasks and duties to meet the operational demands of the Planning Policy Service.
The Opportunity:
- Lead projects and workstreams, managing key evidence to support policy development.
- Support the Council’s planning policy function by researching, drafting, consulting on, and progressing policies and guidance through to examination.
- Help implement policies in practice, including preparing appeal statements, attending hearings, and responding to planning enquiries from applicants, agents, and internal teams.
Requirements:
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification to allow access to Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (or equivalent).
- Licentiate membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (or equivalent).
