An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Relocation Adviser to join the Human Resources Division at the University of Cambridge. This newly developed role will lead and shape the University's relocation service, ensuring exceptional support is provided to new employees relocating to Cambridge from across the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will play a key role in attracting world-class talent, supporting onboarding and helping new staff settle successfully into both their role and the local community.

You will lead the development and delivery of the University's relocation service, providing expert advice and support to candidates, hiring managers and departments across the institution. The role involves managing complex relocation cases, developing relocation policies and procedures, overseeing relocation expense schemes, and building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external service providers. You will also be responsible for maintaining relocation resources and webpages, analysing data to improve service delivery and managing supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality support. Working closely with colleagues across HR, Finance, Estates and academic departments, you will help ensure the University remains an employer of choice for talented individuals from around the world.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of domestic and international relocation matters
  • Significant experience coordinating and delivering a corporate relocation service
  • Strong understanding of factors affecting talent attraction, including housing, cost of living and local services
  • Experience advising stakeholders and managing complex cases
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with senior leaders, managers and external providers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • High level of IT literacy, including Microsoft Office
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience managing or supervising a team

Desirable

  • Experience supporting senior-level or international relocations
  • Experience managing supplier contracts and tendering processes
  • Experience within higher education, public sector or large complex organisations
  • Experience developing relocation policies, guidance and onboarding resources
  • Knowledge of immigration, international mobility or global talent attraction initiatives
