An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR professional to join the Human Resources Division as a Senior HR Business Partner for the prestigious University of Cambridge to work within the School of Clinical Medicine team.
This senior role offers the opportunity to work strategically with senior leaders, providing expert HR advice and operational support across a broad range of people-related matters, including organisational change, employment law, workforce planning and complex case management.
You will act as a trusted HR partner to senior management, supporting the delivery of HR strategy and organisational objectives across the division. The role includes leading on complex employee relations matters, organisational change programmes, workforce initiatives and large-scale HR projects, while ensuring delivery to high standards and within agreed timescales. You will also play a key leadership role within the HR function, coaching and mentoring HR colleagues, supporting professional development and contributing to continuous improvement across the wider people agenda.

- Strong operational knowledge of employment law, complex case management and organisational change
- Experience advising and influencing senior management on HR strategy and practice
- Strong project planning and delivery experience across large-scale initiatives
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyse complex issues strategically and operationally to develop effective solutions
- Strong organisational and project management capabilities
- Professional CIPD qualification or equivalent experience (Associate or Chartered preferred)
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
- Experience working within an NHS Trust/Body or Higher Education Institution Medical School
- Experience of budgetary management
- Knowledge and understanding of key NHS issues and policy drivers
