Avalon is seeking a proactive Supported Housing Manager to oversee day-to-day housing management operations, line-manage a team of Housing Officers, and manage a small hands-on property patch. Based out of Oxford and covering London and the South of the country, this role requires regular travel (2–3 days per week) to conduct property visits and support remote staff. Reporting to the Head of Housing, you will drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing’s Consumer Standards, and ensure high-quality, efficient Intensive Housing Management services are delivered across the region. Key duties of the Supported Housing Manager: * Line-manage three Housing Officers, conducting performance reviews, monitoring day-to-day activity, and providing guidance on complex cases. * Directly manage a small portfolio of residential properties within the region, overseeing day-to-day tenancy and void management. * Travel 2–3 days per week across London and the South to conduct property inspections, audit service records, and support frontline staff. * Support the resolution of complex tenancy management issues, including anti-social behaviour (ASB), tenancy breaches, and legal escalations. * Oversee Intensive Housing Management delivery, ensuring Housing Benefit applications and local authority reviews (e.g., SHIP) strictly adhere to regulations. * Collaborate with support providers to generate referrals and liaise with maintenance teams to ensure prompt repair resolution and void progression. * Produce regular performance and income management reports, highlighting underperformance and implementing targeted improvement plans. Supported Housing Manager Requirements: * Experience: Proven track record in a similar housing management or supervisory role within a housing association or supported housing provider. * Knowledge: Strong understanding of Housing Benefit regulations, Intensive Housing Management models, supported housing, and RSH Consumer Standards. * Staff Leadership: Experience managing direct reports, carrying out performance scrutiny, and executing operational improvement plans. * Travel & Mobility: Ability and willingness to travel 2–3 days per week across London and the South of England. * Personal Attributes: Resilient, self-motivated, self-sufficient administratively, with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
