Spirehouse are currently supporting a West Midlands based Local Authority in need of a Housing Advisor for a 3 month contract.

The Opportunity:

A client in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Housing Advisor to provide an excellent, customer-focused housing allocations service. The advisor will process housing applications and provide advice on housing allocations and homelessness, as well as general advice for the housing service.

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist in the operation of the Council’s allocation system, managing and updating the housing register, including registering applications and determining banding of new applications in accordance with Council policies, maintaining any casework records and validating applications.
  • Provide housing advice and housing options in order to maximise the customers housing opportunities and to prevent homelessness.
  • Administer the allocations of the Council’s garages ensuring that empty garages are relet in accordance with agreed processes and to answer customer enquiries relating to garages.
  • Assist in the management of temporary accommodation for homeless people including preparation of paperwork and conducting signups.

Further information:

  • 3-month temporary position
  • £17.89 per hour via umbrella
  • Full-time at 37 hours per working week

Requirements:

  • Full UK driver's licence with access to a vehicle
  • At least 2 years’ experience of delivering customer focused quality services on face-to-face and telephone basis.
