Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and energize our Global Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) operations. This role demands strategic leadership, regulatory expertise, and a passionate drive to foster a proactive safety and sustainability culture worldwide. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of global regulatory compliance, ESG initiatives, and HSE best practices across office and manufacturing environments, supported by qualifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent certifications. This role will report to the Sr Global Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Global HSE Leadership: Develop and champion a unified global health, safety, and environmental vision across all sites—whether offices in Europe or manufacturing facilities in North America. Inspire cross-functional teams to become dedicated safety advocates. Advise senior leaders with clarity and enthusiasm on strategies to reduce risks, enhance safety, and embed ESG principles. Balance strategic priorities with daily operational needs to maximize impact.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with international HSE regulations, focusing on EU, US, UK, and Canadian laws. Stay current with standards like ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, proactively updating policies to maintain best practices. Lead audits with transparency and rigor, using results to drive continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management and Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify risks and drive improvements. Manage Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Management systems with a focus on innovation and effectiveness. Oversee the detailed risk assessments (e.g., COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER) and implement strong mitigation plans. Lead incident investigations, uncover root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Serve as lead investigator for incidents globally, providing clear, timely analysis and recommendations. Deliver insightful safety performance reports to stakeholders, fostering transparency and trust.
  • Communication and Training: Drive an engaging communication strategy that energizes global teams. Partner with HR to design and deliver inspiring training programs that resonate across all levels and cultures. Coach managers and HSE representatives to become passionate safety champions. Developing and refining Global Health & Safety policies is a core responsibility, ensuring clear guidance that empowers employees worldwide. Promote a visible, proactive safety culture through consistent engagement and creative communication.
  • Policy and Process Development: Lead the creation and continuous improvement of Global Health & Safety policies that provide clear, actionable guidance across diverse regulatory landscapes. Align policies with best practices and operational realities, including handling hazardous materials like lithium batteries and nitrogen gas. Collaborate with teams to embed these policies deeply into daily operations, building ownership and compliance.
  • Global ESG and Sustainability Initiatives: Drive integration of ESG principles into HSE strategies, promoting environmental stewardship and sustainability as key business priorities. Inspire global teams to embed these values in everyday operations.
  • Multi-Site Oversight: Ensure consistent application of safety standards across office and manufacturing sites, adapting approaches to meet local requirements. Use best practice frameworks to harmonize processes and build a strong global safety culture. Engage on-site teams actively to foster ownership and alignment with HSE goals.
  • Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Lead global audits and evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement. Use data driven insights to elevate safety systems. Develop and execute Corrective Action Plans (CAP) to prevent recurrence and raise standards.
  • Engagement and Continuous Improvement: Maintain ongoing enthusiasm for HSE principles through regular communication, feedback, and learning opportunities. Organize training sessions that maximize participation and embed safety as a core value.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of EHS experience
  • Strong knowledge of EU, US, UK, and Canadian HSE legislation and standards.
  • Expertise with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Skilled in risk management and safety system implementation.
  • Experience with Global ESG & Sustainability Initiatives
