Spire View Housing Association (SVHA) is a community-based housing association with a wider remit to enable the regeneration of the Roystonhill area. We are seeking a new team member to support the delivery of our Royston Gathering Together Project within the community of Royston, Glasgow. The Project will develop the Roystonhill Community Hub, maximising the facilities, activities and services.
The Community Projects Coordinator will manage staff and volunteers to deliver this project; they will also monitor and evaluate project delivery and impact. The aim of the project is building positive relationships and supporting people’s health & wellbeing through the development of our community facility.
We are looking for a self-motivated Community Projects Coordinator who will recruit, support and encourage local people to attend activities, take up relevant volunteering opportunities within our Community Hub and deliver this amazing new project.
Job OutlineTo lead, develop, and deliver inclusive community projects that respond to the needs and aspirations of local residents in Royston, Glasgow. The Community Projects Coordinator will work collaboratively with individuals, groups, and partner organisations to design and implement initiatives in Roystonhill Community Hub that promote social connection, wellbeing, and community empowerment.
To develop the Hub, maximising the facilities, activities and services available, sustaining our existing activities, implementing our proposed programme of new activities and identifying any future new opportunities that meet local community needs through ongoing community engagement and networking with partner organisations.
The Community Projects Coordinator will also manage sessional/freelance staff for the projects and any project volunteers that support delivery of activities. In addition, the Community Projects Coordinator will monitor and evaluate project delivery and impact and report on the progress of all projects within Roystonhill Community Hub.
Main Duties- Project Planning and Delivery: Lead the implementation of the “Royston Gathering Together” programme, ensuring all activities are delivered on time and within budget. Develop and coordinate a diverse range of community initiatives aimed at promoting social connection, wellbeing, and community empowerment.
- Community Engagement and Empowerment: Facilitate ongoing engagement with Royston residents to shape project activities through surveys, events, and participatory budgeting. Establish and support a Hub Users Advisory Group to guide programme development and ensure community-led decision-making. Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of the role.
- Volunteer Recruitment and Support: Recruit, train, and supervise local volunteers across all project activities. Create meaningful volunteer roles that build skills, confidence, and social networks, with a focus on supporting disadvantaged individuals.
- Partnership Development: Work collaboratively with local organisations, in particular members of the Royston Strategy Group, to deliver activities and enhance service reach. Maintain strong relationships with Royston Strategy Group members and other stakeholders.
- Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting: Track project outputs and outcomes including attendance, volunteer engagement, and community impact. Produce quarterly updates and an annual evaluation report for SVHA Management Committee, funders, and partners.
- Promotion and Communications: Promote activities through social media, newsletters, posters, and local networks. Ensure inclusive and accessible communication to reach diverse community groups.
- Governance and Operational Oversight: Familiarise yourself with the aims and objectives of Spire View Housing Association and Roystonhill Community Hub and the required outputs and outcomes of any funding associated with this post. Manage sessional and freelance staff involved in project delivery. Oversee day-to-day use of Hub facilities and resources to maximise community benefit. Carry out any other relevant work deemed appropriate as directed by the Corporate Governance Officer.
- Safeguarding and Inclusion: Uphold SVHA’s safeguarding policies and ensure all activities are welcoming, inclusive, and culturally sensitive. Champion equality and diversity across all aspects of the project.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) and may include evening and weekend work. This post is funded by The National Lottery – Community Action Fund and Glasgow Communities Fund for 3 years until 31st March 2029. A basic disclosure will be required for the successful candidate.
