The Opportunity:
We have an opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join our Private Client team, based in the heart of Norwich. This role is an excellent opportunity to provide secretarial support to the team and work in a fast-paced environment.
The Candidate:
We are seeking a candidate that:
- Has previous legal secretarial experience.
- Has excellent time management, organisational, IT and communication skills.
- Can demonstrate accurate typing abilities (inclusive of dictations).
- Takes pride in having exceptional attention to detail.
- Has the ability to communicate in a friendly, professional and confidential manner.

The Role:
As a Legal Secretary, you would:
- Produce correspondence via BigHand digital dictation system and/or copy typing.
- Proof-read all typed communications to ensure that it is accurate and correctly presented and amend documents/letters with tracked changes.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Take new client enquiries over the telephone and in person and ensure that new instructions are allocated equally between fee earners.
- Open, archive and close electronic and paper files (including conflict checking) in line with firm procedures.
- Arrange for documents to be posted in a timely manner
- Assist clients with the collection of original documents such as Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (to include requesting and obtaining the appropriate paperwork).
- Diary management for fee earners.
- Photocopy/scan documents as required.
- Meet and greet clients and take ID documents.
- Ensure all feedback received from clients or 3rd parties regarding the Firm or a service provided is passed on to the appropriate individual.
- When appropriate, make file notes of meetings or telephone calls.
- Ensure fee earners have relevant documentation for meetings.
- Keep files up to date and file all relevant documents (paper and electronic files).
