We have an opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant to join our supportive Residential Conveyancing team, based at our Dereham office. This role provides administrative support to the team in a fast-paced environment.
As a Conveyancing Assistant, this role plays a key part in supporting the fee earners with residential property transactions from instruction through to completion. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with opening new files and carrying out initial documentation and ID checks.
- Drafting and preparing correspondence and legal documents, such as contracts, transfers and completion statements.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and solicitors.
- Submitting searches, such as drainage, environmental, bankruptcy searches.
- Closing files.
- Supporting the conveyancer in ensuring smooth progression of transactions.
- Managing administrative duties, such as file management, diary management, data entry and scanning.
- Supporting with covering reception when needed.
The Candidate
Ideally has previous similar experience, including working with a small fee earning target. The candidate should have:
- A commitment to providing an excellent standard of client care.
- IT literacy and accuracy in typing.
- Great time management, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- The ability to enjoy a busy environment, multitask, and remain calm under pressure.
- A positive 'can-do' attitude and a love for learning new skills.
- Team-player qualities to quickly build rapport and gain the trust of their team and clients.
