Location: Leeds

Hours: 40 hours (Days) over Monday to Friday (flexible on personal preference)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Bonus (negotiated on experience)

Main Purpose of Job: To maintain, improve and develop automated systems.

Responsible to: Production Manager

The Client: Our client manufactures and provides world class building products into the Construction sector, supplying to some of the largest building contractors and SMEs throughout the UK. General Duties:

  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance (mechanical and electrical)
  • Reacting to breakdowns
  • Diagnosing faults
  • Repairing equipment
  • Obtaining components
  • Improving consistency of production processes
  • Proactive and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Servicing and maintaining manufacturing machinery/tools

PLC/Automation Duties:

  • Modification and fault finding of Siemens TIA Portal Control Systems and Automation
  • Maintenance, fault finding, modification, and upgrade of the electrical and pneumatic operation of Control Systems and Automation
  • Program Siemens PLCs through TIA Portal using LAD, FBD, STL, and SCL languages
  • Motion Control - Setup and configuration of Siemens SINAMICS servos and Inverters, and NORD inverters
  • ABB IRC5 programming, path teaching, and setup of TCP, Work Objects, and Zones
  • VB script programming in HMIs, and programming of interlinked systems which use Python and C#
  • SQL Database setup, modification, and querying of tables

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong understanding and proven track record in maintenance engineering
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong understanding of welding/fabrication
  • A desire to continually improve technical knowledge and use latest technology
  • Experience working in an automated manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience working with Robot Arms
  • Understanding of CAD, SolidWorks & Inventor is desired
