Spire Occupational Health (Spire OH) – part of the wider Spire Healthcare Group – is looking for a competent, confident, and customer-focused Head of Operations with extensive service improvement knowledge to lead and manage the Operations Team – the hub of Spire OH’s clinical activity.
Spire Healthcare Group is the second largest private healthcare provider in the UK, established in 2007 with 38 hospitals and 50+ clinics across the country. We provide Occupational Health services to clients nationwide, and we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to put their health first and we help support our clients, and employees to do so.
In this exciting role, you would lead the operational excellence of our OH services as part of the wider Spire Workplace Health provision. This pivotal role involves system and service planning, team leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and ensuring top-tier service delivery within KPIs and SLAs.
You’ll work closely with Senior Leaders to manage operational and financial performance, reporting directly to the Operations Director.
Must have:
- 5 years’ experience managing an operations team.
- Proven abilities in service improvements and business changes.
- Strong IT capabilities with knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerBI.
- Robust experience in customer service and engagement.
- Deep understanding of Financial Operating Models & Workforce Planning Models.
- Experience in Occupational Health set up or similar service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day performance and KPI delivery of the Operations Team.
- Lead the ongoing improvement of operational systems, processes, and policies.
- Strategically manage resources and capacity within the team to meet business needs.
- Manage and mentor operations team to ensure high performance and collaboration.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to support company growth.
- Oversee the recruitment and training of new employees.
- Oversee operations budget to ensure financial targets are met.
- Ensure that all relevant customer SLAs and KPIs are met and exceeded, maintaining high standards of performance and customer satisfaction.
- Utilise technology and stay on top of industry trends to keep Spire OH competitive.
- Ensure all operations adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements.

- Highly analytical with an ability to interrogate and manage data effectively.
