Spire St Anthony's Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy Department on a bank contract. This is an ad hoc, bank role working on an “as and when required” basis. You will support staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for annual leave, sickness, and other peak times throughout the year.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Assist the pharmacy team in providing an exemplary pharmacy service to the hospital and its patients, working within your level of competence.
  • Contribute to the safe and effective use of medicines.
  • Undertake routine delegated activities accurately and in line with current legislation, professional standards, and Spire Healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Prepare yourself, equipment, materials, and medicines appropriately for specific tasks.
  • Accurately dispense medicines according to prescriptions, ensuring all items are checked by a pharmacist.
  • Prepare small batches of pre‑packed and/or over‑labelled medicines as required, ensuring pharmacist verification.
  • Accurately record data and information relating to activities and ensure this is passed to the appropriate team member or filed correctly.
  • Identify and report any significant changes within the pharmacy department or service that may impact patient health and wellbeing.

  • Strong team‑working skills.

  • Highly numerate and literate.
  • Administrative experience involving checking and monitoring processes.
