Spire Southampton Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join the Bank in our outpatient's department. Spire Southampton Hospital offers world-class care, attracting patients from across the South of England and internationally. We deliver some of the best cardiac surgery results in the country. Our Critical Care department and multidisciplinary team offer you peace of mind for our wide range of treatments.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Day to day running of clinics
  • Assisting Consultants to treat and care for patients
  • Seeing patients for nurse led treatments i.e. Wound reviews/dressings, phlebotomy, recording of vital signs, ECG’s, removal of casts, Ophthalmic diagnostic tests
  • Making refreshments for Consultants and Patients
  • Acting as a chaperone
  • Assisting in keeping the Outpatient environment clean, tidy and safe
  • Ensuring consumables are replenished regularly
  • Decontamination of equipment
  • Regular cleaning between patients, Consultation rooms and clinical areas
  • Restocking of patient linen
  • Trained nurses are responsible for the safe keeping of medication including monthly expiry date audits
  • All staff will be expected to be involved with Audit and link roles within the department.

Who we're looking for:

  • Be NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
  • Compassionate and able to showcase excellent patient care
  • Able to lead clinics
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to carry out wound dressings
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Experience working within an outpatient setting
  • Early recognition of clinical problems and report or take appropriate action

Contract: 0 hours contract on the staffing bank / flexible working

Hours: Variety of shifts Monday – Friday 07:30 – 21:30, some Saturdays.
