Spire Thames Valley Hospital in Slough is seeking an experienced engineer assistant/handyman to join their fantastic team on a bank basis. The successful applicant will work as part of the engineering team providing a comprehensive and cost-effective engineering service within the hospital, maintaining a safe environment for all staff and customers.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To provide & support in-house building maintenance duties
- To undertake decoration works & repairs to a high standard and in a timely manner
- To provide purchasing assistance for required tools & materials
- To identify areas of decoration requirements and communicate these findings to management
- To assist other engineers
- To complete on-line mandatory training
- To work safely and keep work areas safe for others
Who we're looking for:
- Experienced in painting and decorating
- Experienced in general maintenance activities
- Able to prioritise workload
- Able to use a computer for on-line training, communication & work sign off
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good literacy and numerate skills
- Results driven, high levels of determination and initiative
- Due to the unpredictability and nature of the function, the post holder will on occasion, be required to work outside of normal working hours
Contract type: Bank/Ad-hoc to cover Annual Leave and Sickness
