Spire Claremont Hospital based in Sheffield has an exciting opportunity for a Ward Sister / Charge Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis, working full time hours. Spire Claremont Hospital has provided first-class independent healthcare at the heart of the South Yorkshire community since 1953. Our hospital is situated among beautifully landscaped grounds in Crosspool, Sheffield and it is situated 3 miles (about 20 minutes) to the south west of Sheffield city centre. Claremont Hospital has 42 beds, three laminar flow theatres, 13 consulting rooms, a static MRI and CT scanner, and plain and digital X-ray. The hospital provides surgery and outpatients with diagnostic imaging services.

Contract Type: Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lead and coordinate on a daily basis.
  • Troubleshoot and raise concerns to the Ward Manager.
  • Support the nursing team, HCAs, and Ward Manager.
  • Delegate work to others.
  • Competent to make safe discharge decisions working with our consultant team.

Who we’re looking for:

  • You must hold a valid NMC pin with no conditions or restrictions.
  • You must have a minimum of 2 years experience in surgical nursing.
  • You must have a teaching or assessing qualification.
  • Is an ALS provider (desirable).
  • Evidence of involvement in quality improvement.
  • Experience in managing and leading teams.
