Spire Claremont Hospital, based in Sheffield, has an amazing opportunity and is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Director of Clinical Services to provide overall leadership and management to all clinical service areas within the Hospital. As Director of Clinical Services, you will play a pivotal role in the ongoing development and further expansion of clinical services at Spire Claremont, whilst overseeing a clinical team of Senior Department Leads across the hospital.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Work predominantly Monday – Friday around the core hours of 9-5, with flexibility to meet the needs of the department, as well as taking part in the Senior Management on-call system.
  • Ensure that clinical governance, patient safety, and satisfaction are at the top of the agenda daily.
  • Work closely with the Governance Manager and Heads of Department to ensure compliance with CQC regulations.
  • Ensure good infection prevention control across the hospital.
  • Lead teams on quality improvement strategies.
  • Lead and implement the hospital’s clinical strategy and provide support and input to the hospital’s overall business strategy.
  • Promote a cost-effective, patient-focused quality service for the continuing success of Spire Healthcare.
  • Provide clear focus on business results, maintaining the balance between quality healthcare delivery and sound financial performance.
  • Support the commercial development of clinical services, including actively creating new business and innovative opportunities.

Who we're looking for

  • Registered Nurse or equivalent healthcare professional with a valid NMC or HPC registration, without any restrictions.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in managing a senior team of clinical professionals in either the NHS or private hospital.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of a hospital, ideally with surgical ward experience.
  • Utilise leadership skills to demonstrate good clinical practice.
  • Willing and clinically able to partake in clinical duties as and when required.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance is essential.
  • Innovative and dynamic thinker with an enthusiastic approach.
  • Completed mentorship or teaching qualification.
  • Completed management qualification would be an advantage, but not essential.
