Spire Dunedin Hospital in Reading is seeking a Host and Catering Assistant to join our warm and friendly team on a permanent full-time basis. If you have experience in catering and a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a private healthcare environment where quality and care come first.
As a Host and Catering Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our colleagues and patients through excellent food service and warm hospitality.
Working Hours: Monday – Sunday, between the hours of 07:00 – 20:30
Duties and responsibilities:
- Supporting our Catering team in delivering a high standard of service to patients on the wards, including helping with menu choices, serving meals, and ensuring regular refreshments.
- Assisting our Chefs with basic food preparation, stock rotation, and maintaining cleanliness in our restaurant and kitchen areas.
- Providing friendly, attentive service to patients, visitors, and colleagues, always maintaining a professional and approachable manner.
- Ensuring all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are met, with full compliance at all times.
- Respecting patient confidentiality and contributing to a calm, welcoming environment.
Who we're looking for:
- Previous experience in catering in a similar environment is essential.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is a minimum requirement.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a busy setting.
- A positive, flexible attitude and strong communication skills.
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service with empathy and professionalism.
