Spire Shawfair Park Hospital is seeking an experienced Outpatients Team Leader to join our established, supportive and high-performing nursing team.
This is a key leadership role within a busy, fast-paced outpatient department, ideal for a nurse who thrives on responsibility, enjoys developing others and has a strong background in outpatient services.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Provide visible clinical leadership and operational oversight for nursing services within the outpatient department.
- Work closely with the Outpatient Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality care while supporting the ongoing development of the nursing team.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and support to the outpatient nursing team, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support the Outpatient Manager with workforce planning, clinic coordination and safe staffing levels in a high-volume department.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members, including supporting appraisals, training and professional development.
- Provide hands-on clinical support and direct patient care when required.
- Ensure consistently high standards of patient assessment, care delivery and health education.
- Promote compliance with policies, procedures, clinical guidelines and best practice.
- Act as a role model, maintaining professional standards, patient dignity and safety at all times.
Who we’re looking for:
- NMC registered nurse with a valid pin and no restrictions.
- Significant experience working within an outpatient setting.
- Confident leading teams in a busy clinical environment.
- Up to date with mandatory training, including infection control and health & safety.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective professional relationships.
- Passionate about developing others and maintaining high clinical standards.
