Spire Orthopaedic Team Centre, Manchester is currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Senior Management Team on a full-time and permanent basis.

The OrthTeam Centre specialises in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal problems - from sports injuries to degenerative and arthritic conditions.

Contract type: Permanent, Full-time

Working hours: Monday to Friday between 8 am and 6 pm - Some requirement for evening work depending on event delivery.

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth and business development of the Orth Team Centre including engagement with key stakeholders and referrers. The postholder is also responsible for leading our Sports and Exercise Medicine (SEM) and Elite sports services across the North West of the UK.

The role will target all key referrers such as insurers, professional and elite sports clubs, academies, National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and physiotherapy networks as well as implementing strategic partnerships. This role will involve strategic planning, business development and research to ensure our services are informed by the latest market data, clinical evidence and industry advancements.

To achieve this you will:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to increase patient volumes and revenue streams across the centre.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the centre’s services into new markets and specialties.
  • Maintain and expand the reach of relationships with key referrers and stakeholders in professional sport, sports science, sports psychology, sports nutrition, player welfare and wellbeing, player operations and SEM to support the centre’s growth and collaborative research efforts.
  • Oversee integration of SEM services within identified performance partner organisations, elite sport targets and key referrers.

What do you need to have?

  • Flexibility is expected so that the post holder is available to meet stakeholders at times that suit them and the role involves some evening and weekend working to support events.
  • Competent user of MS Office.
  • Understanding of the different marketing channels.
  • Exceptional written skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience of writing compelling copy for a variety of mediums.
  • Excellent proof-reading skills.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken.
