Spire Liverpool Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary Administrator to join our team on a part-time, permanent basis. Spire Liverpool Hospital is a leading provider of private hospital treatments for patients across the North West of England. With a full multidisciplinary medical team, we specialise in a wide range of treatments. Our high-quality accommodation and aftercare reflect our commitment to supporting patients and their health throughout their journey.
Working Hours: 22.5 hours per week. Operating hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

About the Role: As a Medical Secretary Administrator, you will provide a full medical secretarial service to assigned consultants, ensuring an efficient, professional and timely service for both consultants and patients.
Duties and Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing an efficient and timely secretarial service to assigned consultants and associated teams
- Producing medical letters, operation notes, clinic notes and discharge summaries in a timely manner
- Answering telephone queries and referring them when necessary
- Providing patients with information about appointments, including potential hospital and consultant fees
- Chasing patient results and ensuring they are ready for consultant review before or during the next appointment
- Typing discharge summaries dictated by consultants when required
- Managing consultants’ mail, including distribution
- Building strong working relationships with consultants, administration teams, nursing staff and other departments

- Audio typing experience — essential
- Strong knowledge and practical use of Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
