Bank Clinical Healthcare Assistant | Children and Young People | Competitive Hourly Rate | Flexible Working | Leeds – LS8

Spire Leeds Hospital are now recruiting a highly motivated, flexible and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our Children’s and Young Peoples Department Team, you will provide direct and indirect care for patients and their families supported by the Registered Nurses.

You will be required to be flexible and support the department needs as and when required.

Spire Leeds Hospital, located in Roundhay, Leeds, has been treating patients for almost 30 years.

We are the region’s largest private hospital in terms of the range of services we offer and the number of consultants we work with.

The hospital offers a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres, a sterile services department, a dedicated endoscopy suite, and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner.

There are outpatient and physiotherapy departments providing services six days per week

Duties and responsibilities;

  • Promote family centred care for paediatric patients.

Assess the health and well being needs of people whose needs are relatively stable and consistent.

  • Establish and maintain communication with children and their families throughout their hospital journey including outpatient clinics.
  • Develop own and others’ personal development.
  • Monitor and maintain health and safety and security for self and others.
  • Contribute to the implementation of services.
  • Ensure own actions promote quality.
  • Promote people’s equality, diversity and rights.
  • Understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.
  • Who we're looking for
  • BTEC certificate in health & Social Care Or NVQ 2/3 health care or equivalent
  • Childcare qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of working with children in a hospital or community setting
  • Experience of planning work and acting under own initiative
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
  • Committed to working with children and their families
