Spire Hull and East Riding have a great opportunity for a Porter to join the team on a full-time permanent basis. As a Porter, you will work as a multi-skilled member of the team providing high-level, quality support to the hospital with minimum supervision, covering any of the courier, portering, cleaning, admin, and security duties.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Excellent communication skills and presentation are essential.
  • Escorting patients in a safe and friendly manner is a key function, along with performing a number of varied duties.
  • Managing deliveries, all waste collection and disposal (including clinical).
  • Movement of all goods and equipment when required and any additional tasks as requested.
  • Hourly walk rounds of the hospital site and assisting in any security duties.
  • Helping with any administration tasks that may be required, i.e. medical records.
  • Switchboard.
  • Cardiac.

What do you need to have?

  • A clean, full UK driving license is required for the role.
  • Excellent customer service and providing a friendly ear to patients during what can sometimes be a particularly unsettling time.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent customer care skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Caring and sympathetic.
  • Ability to work evenings and possibly some weekends.
  • Able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the department.
