Spire Harpenden Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a
Radiology Assistant to join our Imaging Department on a bank basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to support our experienced Radiography team in delivering outstanding patient care within a modern and busy diagnostic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
As a Radiology Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the Imaging Department and ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care throughout their diagnostic journey.
Your responsibilities will include
- Supporting Radiographers and Specialist Radiographers with patient care during imaging procedures.
- Assisting patients before, during and after examinations.
- Contributing to the monitoring and support of patients undergoing diagnostic investigations.
- Recognising and reporting any significant changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate clinical professional.
- Assisting with the safe movement and transfer of patients in line with hospital policies and procedures.
- Ensuring a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients and colleagues.
- Providing excellent customer service and reassurance to patients throughout their visit.

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team and is committed to delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Essential
- Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar patient-facing clinical role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional, flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Desirable
- Experience working within an Imaging or Radiology Department.
- Experience assisting with ultrasound examinations, including interventional procedures.
- Experience supporting MRI services.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a related healthcare qualification.
Please note that while an NVQ Level 3 qualification and imaging experience would be advantageous, neither are essential as full training and support will be provided.
