Spire Clare Park Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Hospital Porter to join our dynamic and experienced Porting team on the staffing bank. This role is for someone looking for flexible working shifts available to cover holidays and sickness.

For over 35 years, Spire Clare Park Hospital has been providing surgery, medical care, outpatients and diagnostic imaging services for adults, children and young people within Surrey and Hampshire. Recently rated ‘Good’ by the CQC, we offer a wide range of surgical specialities that include cosmetic surgery, bones & joints, eye surgery, general surgery and women’s health. Our on-site facilities include three operating theatres (two with laminar flow), two wards with 34 registered beds (used flexibly for inpatients and day care) and a three bedded enhanced recovery unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work as a multi-skilled member of the team providing high level, quality support to the hospital working with the minimum of supervision, covering any of the courier, portering, theatre, cleaning and security duties.
  • You will be required to push trolleys and cages.

Who we're looking for

  • Excellent customer service and providing a friendly ear to patients during what can sometimes be a particularly unsettling time.
  • Our team of Porters provide a vital service in our Hospitals.
  • Although escorting patients in a safe and friendly manner is a key function, you will also be required to perform a number of varied duties.
  • Managing the post and deliveries, all waste collection and disposal (including clinical).
  • Movement of all goods and equipment when required and any additional tasks as requested.
  • You must be able to do the physical part of the job.

Working Hours: Shifts will be a variety of earlies or lates starting at 6.30am and lates finishing at 9pm across 7 days per week.

Contract: Bank 0 hours on a flexible basis.
