Spire is currently going through an exciting phase of their journey and opening a clinic in Perth, Scotland which is due to be open towards the end of the year/beginning of 2027. We are looking for driven candidates who are passionate about private healthcare to come along on this amazing journey with us. For the opening of the new clinic we are looking for a Nursing Team Leader to join the team.
Spire Healthcare is one of the UK’s leading independent hospital groups and the largest in terms of revenue, with 38 hospitals and eight clinics across England, Wales and Scotland. Our Spire Clinics deliver a specific range of lower risk outpatient and day case treatments (all on a local anaesthetic basis), which provides faster care for day case patients. The Clinical specialties include Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Gynaecology and Orthopaedics.
To join the Spire Perth team we are looking for a Nursing team leader with either an ODP or Nursing background but you must have experience with management duties. The responsibilities of this role will include:
- Deputise for the Clinical Services Manager in their absence
- In collaboration with highly specialist colleagues, monitor the standard of outpatient capabilities which may involve treatments and competencies across the team. Ensure they are implemented and regularly audited.
- Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practices.
- Develop strategies and policies for service improvement.
- Line Manage Nursing team, including HR policies such as absence management, developing clinical competence of the team and facilitating training needs as required.
- Develop own managerial and clinical knowledge and practice and assist others to develop continually professionally.
- Enable competence and autonomy from the team, with clear leadership and guidance.
- Facilitates the daily practice of Clinical governance and risk management, keeping patients safe.
- Computer literacy including M365/Excel/Teams.
The Ideal candidate will have:
- NMC registration or HCPC registration with no restrictions
- Private hospital experience desirable
- Minimum 3 years management experience
- Must have Outpatient or similar experience including Minor Ops
- Leadership/managerial skills are essential
- Ability to manage and prioritise both clinical and managerial duties, with clear process and procedure.
