Spire Murrayfield Hospital is recruiting an experienced Theatre Practitioner (Recovery) to join their warm and friendly team, on a permanent basis. At Spire, caring for our patients is at the heart of what we do. We provide expert medical care in our modern, well-equipped hospital for all of our patients.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist patients undergoing a variety of elective procedures including Major Orthopaedic (including robotic and foot and ankle), laparoscopic, bariatrics, Robotics gynaecology and urology, Spinal, Breast.
- Provide exemplary care in the recovery or post-operative phase of surgery using appropriate clinical knowledge including support from other team members.
- Respect the patient’s dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs while in your care.
- Maintain high standard of care and effective communication to patients.
- Undertake coordinating roles within the area when no team lead is available.
Who we're looking for:
- Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with recovery / PACU (Post Anaesthetic Care Unit) experience or competence.
- Experience of working in teams independently within a small team.
- Experience in all types of surgery, excluding cardiac and neurological. ALS/ILS desirable but not essential as training will be given if required.
