Spire Alexandra Hospital is looking for an experienced Chef to join our friendly catering team. This flexible role is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing high-quality meals, maintaining excellent food hygiene standards, and working in a professional healthcare setting.

As part of our catering team, you'll help deliver nutritious, well-presented meals to patients, staff and consultants while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the hospital kitchen.

Spire Alexandra Hospital provides expert private healthcare services to patients across Medway, Kent and the South East. Our modern hospital features two fully equipped operating theatres, an extended recovery unit and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing and cooking freshly made meals to a high standard.
  • Assisting with food preparation, including vegetable preparation and ingredient handling.
  • Serving food and beverages to patients, staff, consultants and visitors.
  • Supporting catering services in both the restaurant and ward areas as required.
  • Managing stock rotation, date checks and ensuring food is stored safely.
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
  • Following all health and safety policies and procedures.

Who We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working as a Chef or Cook.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Experience working in a busy catering environment.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Well organised, reliable and adaptable.
  • Committed to delivering excellent customer service and quality food.
