As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll help ensure our hospital environment is safe, compliant and fully operational—supporting clinicians to deliver outstanding care every day. Working as part of a supportive engineering team, you’ll take ownership of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks across a range of systems. From electrical infrastructure to ventilation and water systems, your work will keep the hospital running smoothly and safely. You’ll also liaise with specialist contractors, maintain compliance with HTM standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this role means delivering reliable, high-quality maintenance, prioritising workload effectively, and ensuring all systems meet regulatory and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance using CMMS
  • Support electrical systems alongside ventilation, water systems and infrastructure
  • Electrical Testing, Fault Finding and Fire Alarm Testing
  • Minor Installations & Repairs
  • Ensure compliance with HTM guidance and manufacturer standards
  • Liaise with specialist contractors, promoting safe working practices
  • Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise workload effectively
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Participate in on-call rota (1 in 4) and emergency response
  • Support fire safety systems, testing and drills
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Who we’re looking for:

Essential:

  • Electrical qualification (NVQ level 3 or equivalent) or working towards completion
  • Experience or strong interest in electrical engineering
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks

Desirable:

  • Experience in healthcare, facilities or critical environments
  • Knowledge of HTM standards (training provided)

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:00, On-call rota: 1 in 4

Contract: Permanent - Full Time
