Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is looking for a highly motivated Anaesthetic Practitioner to join their friendly and hard-working team on a full-time permanent basis. This is your opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading private hospitals and take your career to the next level.

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is home to an exceptional range of modern, high‑quality facilities designed to support outstanding clinical care. Our site includes 44 private rooms, a dedicated day‑case suite with 19 private bays, a purpose‑built endoscopy unit, and five operating theatres, including three laminar‑flow theatres specialising in orthopaedic surgery. We also offer an on‑site pharmacy and a dedicated off‑site physiotherapy centre, ensuring seamless care throughout every patient’s journey.

We are also proud to bring in our new da Vinci robotic‑assisted surgery system. This advanced technology enables surgeons to perform complex procedures with greater precision, flexibility and control, which can support faster recovery times and reduced risk of complications. It’s an exciting step in enhancing the services we offer and further strengthening our reputation for clinical excellence.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • The post holder will be expected to develop skills and specialty-based knowledge to support anaesthetic practice in a multi-specialty environment, which may involve procedures performed under general, regional and local anaesthetic.
  • Prepare the operating theatre/anaesthetic room for surgery in relation to instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for specific operative procedures, ensuring waste is kept to a minimum.
  • Ensure the Patient Record is completed in a timely and accurate way.
  • Perform anaesthetic duties.

Who we're looking for:

  • Registered Nurse/ODP; with proven experience within Anaesthetic.
  • You will be an enthusiastic, dedicated team player who is also used to working under minimum supervision.
  • You will be providing exemplary planned care for patients within the perioperative stage and assisting in the management and organisation of care provision in the operating theatre.
  • You will have the opportunity to hone your skills as the unit performs various surgical procedures ranging from General Surgery, Orthopaedic, ENT, Plastics and Ophthalmic.
  • ALS and Airway Maintenance certifications would be desirable, though not essential.
  • Recovery and/or Scrub experience would be an advantage.

Shifts: Monday – Friday: Department runs from 7:30am - 20:30pm.
