The Role
As a Stores Assistant, you'll be responsible for coordinating and controlling the supply of stock and non-stock items throughout the hospital, ensuring departments receive everything they need accurately and on time. You'll become an integral part of a busy support services team, helping us maintain excellent standards and achieve key performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure stock levels are maintained and regularly reviewed to support operational requirements
- Order stock and non-stock items through approved suppliers and the National Distribution Centre (NDC)
- Receive and process deliveries accurately using SAP and associated documentation
- Maintain clear audit trails and resolve any discrepancies relating to deliveries and purchase orders
- Distribute stock and supplies efficiently across hospital departments
- Arrange returns, credits and supplier queries where required
- Support continuous improvement of stores processes and service delivery
- Contribute to a safe, organised and efficient working environment
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys working both independently and as part of a team. You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within a stores, supplies, warehouse or logistics environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively
