Spire Parkway Hospital have an exciting opportunity for an experience Quality and Governance Manager to lead and drive improvements to the patient experience.

Our hospital is rated Good by the CQC for all parts of the inspection except for Patient Care, which is rated Outstanding.
The report states, “Staff treated patients with compassion and kindness, respected their privacy and dignity, took account of their individual needs, and helped them understand their conditions.
They provided emotional support to patients, families and carers.”
Our dedicated hospital team are passionate about excellent patient care and we offer a range of specialist treatments to patients across the West Midlands.
This includes diagnostic services, rehabilitation, cutting-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, women’s health and cancer care.
We have 51 bedrooms and five operating theatres.
Duties and responsibilities
- To work closely with the Director of Clinical Services, Hospital Director, Lead Consultant for Clinical Governance and the MAC Chair in driving clinical excellence, quality and the Clinical Governance Framework within the hospital.
- To display and promote excellent clinical leadership in all areas of the hospital.
- To promote excellent customer service throughout the hospital, facilitating and co-ordinating corporate and local customer service initiatives and providing appropriate support to colleagues.
- To lead and drive improvements to the patient experience utilising all information available within Spire.
- Monitor any changes made and ensure initiatives are trialled, reviewed and embedded.
- Provide leadership, expert advice and direction staff across the organisation with regards to Quality and Governance.
- Ensure a robust integrated governance framework is in place with complies with current legislation and the requirements of regulatory bodies including the CQC and JAG.
- Support OSH in maintaining its’ commitment to be a quality healthcare environment.
- Be responsible for the operational day to day management of the Quality and Governance Agenda and those working within it.
- Ensure the incident reporting systems are well managed and issues responded to appropriately and thoroughly.
- Manage OSH policy and procedures framework.
Who we're looking for
- Registered with NMC or HCPC is desirable
- Relevant clinical qualifications are desirable, however not essential if equivalent experience in quality improvement or clinical governance experience can be demonstrated.
- Previous experience operating at senior level
- Experience of undertaking clinical audits
- Experience of undertaking Root Cause Analysis
- Attended and obtained recent PSIRF training
- Quality Improvement (QI) or Project Management qualification/training.
- Computer literate with a comprehensive understanding of word and excel and be able to transfer data into charts with Excel and other programmes.
- Good facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and experience of collating data, interpreting data accurately, report writing and minute taking, demonstrating excellent attention to detail
- Experience in healthcare governance, risk management or related field, project management ideally management of the CQC registration process and complaints management.
- Good working knowledge of the CQC.
Working knowledge of CQC standards, auditing and developing improvement plans, collating and analysing statistical information and producing reports.
