Spire Parkway Hospital has an exciting opportunity to join the staffing bank as a Registered Nurse in the outpatient department. The successful applicant will provide high-quality evidence-based nursing care in clinic settings to facilitate smooth and efficient outpatient clinics.

Our hospital is rated Good by the CQC for all parts of the inspection except for Patient Care, which is rated Outstanding. The report states, “Staff treated patients with compassion and kindness, respected their privacy and dignity, took account of their individual needs, and helped them understand their conditions. They provided emotional support to patients, families and carers.”

Our dedicated hospital team are passionate about excellent patient care and we offer a range of specialist treatments to patients across Birmingham, Warwickshire and the West Midlands. This includes diagnostic services, rehabilitation, cutting-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, women’s health and cancer care. We have 51 bedrooms and five operating theatres.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Run nurse led dressing and phlebotomy clinics and assist in pre-operative investigations.
  • Carry out any other duties delegated by the OPD Manager / team leader for the proper and efficient care of the patients and the smooth running of the department.
  • Chaperone and assist Consultants during examination of the patients and minor surgical procedures and assists in arranging investigations requested by Consultants.
  • Complete Outpatient documentation to a high standard.
  • Carry out individualized nursing care and procedures to the highest standards complying with hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain and provide patients with relevant and accessible written information regarding their procedures / treatments.

Who we're looking for:

  • Core Qualifications: Valid NMC registration as an Adult Nurse.
  • Urodynamics: Specific training or demonstrable clinical experience in conducting urodynamic testing and interpreting results.
  • Experience: Background in urology, urogynaecology, or a related surgical/outpatient specialty.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with urodynamic systems (such as the Laborie Nexam Pro).
  • Minimum of 6 months post registration.
  • Passion for providing clinically excellent care.
  • Willingness to grow, develop, be flexible and innovate in their practice.
