Bank Wards Administrator | Competitive Hourly Rate | Flexible Working | Bushey We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrator to join the bank staffing team to support administrative tasks based on the Wards at Spire Bushey. Duties and responsibilities; – Greet and receive patients, visitors and other members of staff to the wards in a polite and professional manner and to undertake general reception duties. – Answer the telephone and relay accurate messages as appropriate. – Maintain effective communications between patients, their relatives and the team within the department. – Escort patients from reception for admission. Explain the room layout and facilities, deliver post and newspapers. – Liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communications are maintained within the department. – Reports complaints or concerns to the Nurse in charge/shift leader. – Assist in the delivery and evaluation of care of patients admitted to the ward in accordance with Spire policies – With due regard to risk management policies and procedures, participate in maintaining a safe environment for patients, relatives, carers and staff. – Ensure that patient notes are up to date and in correct order and are taken to the appropriate place be it coders or secretary when a patient episode is complete. Ensure that all filing of results and other information is accurately filed in the patient\’s notes. – Liaise with the all relevant department and the patient to ensure accurate data in the system (admissions, discharge and transfer of patients). – Assist in orientation of new staff to the ward. – Assist with the ordering of ward/unit stores and undertake the ordering of all stationery ensuring availability at all times. – Taking and distributing accurate minutes for team meetings in a timely manner. – Update SAP with any augmented nursing care communicated by the nursing team to ensure transfer and charging details are updated. – Update SAP with extended length of stay communicated by the nursing team. Capture any additional revenue by escalating any additional length of stay as appropriate (i.e. call insurer). – Booking of outpatients\’ appointments on the system or with the relevant hospital departments and the arranging of transport. – Ensure discharge notes are completed by the medical staff and sent to GP\’s within 24 hours of discharge and results are filed prior to leaving ward. – General ward administration including, keeping the notes trolley/s in good order, checking all request forms are signed by doctors and ordering of porters as requested. – Provide and receive patient information, ensuring that all patient information is provided, received and recorded in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Spire policies. – Where required, assist with aspects of patient\’s care e.g. offering refreshments to carers, etc. – Keep up to date with all information requirements from different departments and collection methods, ensuring all ward staff are kept aware of these. – To support the team in carrying out all customer focussed service and administrative work processes suggesting improvements, which it is believed, will enhance the department\’s performance, business and quality systems. – Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.
