Spire Little Aston Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their amazing team on a Bank.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Management of direct patient care and responsibility for a clinical caseload, safely administering SACT.
- Work closely with site-specific Consultants, CNSs, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate and concise documentation of clinical activities.
- Collaborate with professionals and agencies inside and outside the hospital to meet patient needs and coordinate discharge arrangements.
- Provide professional support to colleagues within the cancer unit.
- Offer patients a Holistic Needs Assessment at relevant points in their pathway, develop a care plan and refer to Level 3 or Level 4 psychological care services when needed.
- Provide specialist, evidence‑based advice to deliver clinically effective care to cancer patients and their families.
- Promote respectful relationships through professional role modelling, explaining pre‑SACT consultation, and involving patients in their care.
Who we're looking for:
- Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.
- Extensive knowledge and senior‑level experience in cancer services.
- Competency in the UKONS 24‑Hour triage tool.
- Desirable post‑registration course within cancer care.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to prioritise competing demands.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, internet and email.
- Knowledge or qualification in palliative care.
