Spire Leicester Hospital is looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dedicated Pre‑Operative Assessment team. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the Lead Nurse in running a safe, effective, patient‑centred pre‑assessment service.
  • Provide and coordinate pre‑operative assessments, collaborating with Consultants, Anaesthetists, and wider clinical teams.
  • Deliver exceptional nursing care across a variety of specialities.
  • Use your clinical expertise to communicate sensitive and complex information with clarity and compassion.
  • Promote best practice in health and safety, infection control, and clinical governance.
  • Help continuously improve patient experience and departmental processes.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and deputise for senior staff when required.
  • Uphold NMC standards, safeguarding policies, confidentiality requirements, and our organisational values.

Who We’re Looking For

  • You’ll be a confident, caring professional who is committed to delivering the highest standards of clinical care.
  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Strong clinical experience, ideally with some pre‑assessment exposure
  • Previous surgical environment experience
  • Competence across a range of nursing skills
  • Up‑to‑date mandatory training, including infection control & health and safety
  • Sound understanding of CQC standards and accountable practice
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills and confidence working with varied and complex patient cases
  • Equipment and medical devices competency
  • Experience or understanding of Root Cause Analysis
