To work as part of the engineering team providing a comprehensive engineering and maintenance service within the hospital, ensuring a safe environment for all patients, visitors, staff and contractors. The role requires repair, maintenance or installation of all plant, equipment, systems and building structure/fabric and includes Planned Preventative Maintenance, testing and calibration, fault finding, defect correction and supporting the emergency on-call rota.
Main duties of the job:
- Provide comprehensive engineering and maintenance service within the hospital.
- Repair, maintain, or install plant, equipment, systems, and building structure/fabric.
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, testing and calibration, fault finding and defect correction.
- Support emergency on-call duties on a rota basis.
- Ensure compliance with current HTM recommendations, PPM schedules, and manufacturers' instructions.
Qualifications:
- Recognised apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with C&G qualification.
- Relevant certificates or willingness to undertake specialist training in specific areas.
Experience:
- Significant experience in building services management with a proven track record.
- Extensive knowledge of building services and ability to prioritise demands against resources.
- Capability to support hospital compliance with changing legislation.
