The Montefiore Hospital is a premium provider of private healthcare in Hove, East Sussex. Main duties of the job:
- Management of direct patient care and to be responsible for a clinical caseload and safely administer SACT.
- Work closely with other site-specific Consultants and CNSs and work as a team.
- Maintain accurate and concise documentation in relation to clinical activities.
Job responsibilities:
- Act as the clinical expert and professional resource to the multi-professional team, patients and carers.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies both within and out of the hospital setting to ensure patient needs are met, especially in relation to ongoing care needs and discharge arrangements.
- Provide professional support to colleagues working within the cancer unit setting.
- Offer patients a Holistic Needs Assessment at relevant points in their pathway.
- Provide a care plan and if identified referral to Level 3 or Level 4 psychological care providers.
- Provide specialist advice which is evidence-based to deliver clinically effective care to cancer patients and their families in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Promote a culture of respectful relationships through professional role modelling conveying the principles required for nurses to improve the patients' experience.
Who we're looking for:
- Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of working at a senior level within cancer services and the administration of SACT.
- Hold an accredited SACT administration course UKONS accredited.
- Demonstrate considerable post-registration competency in the UKONS 24 Hour triage tool.
- Post registration course within cancer care desirable.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to organise work around competing demands on time.
- Demonstrate that can work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Office software packages, internet & email.
- Demonstrate knowledge/qualification in Haematology or willing to work towards.
