Spire South Bank Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Sterile Services Decontamination Assistant to join the SSD team via the temporary staffing bank. The suitable candidate will clean, sterilise and pack theatre instruments, ensuring they are correct and ready for use. The role is physically demanding and involves heavy lifting.

Main duties of the job:

  • Undertake routine tasks related to individuals' health and wellbeing.
  • Check correct instruments are on trays pre and post decontamination.
  • Pack linen, instruments and consumables for sterilisation.
  • Complete tracking systems accurately.
  • Monitor repairs of instruments.
  • Check functioning of sterilising and decontamination equipment according to manufacturers' instructions.
  • Perform heavy lifting and other physical tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Certificate in Decontamination or NVQ level 3 in Decontamination.
  • TVQ level 1 - it's about looking after people.
