Spire Parkway Hospital is currently recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly Pre-Assessment Team to join the bank. We are looking for an experienced HCA within Pre Assessment for flexible shifts. The report states, "Staff treated patients with compassion and kindness, respected their privacy and dignity, took account of their individual needs, and helped them understand their conditions. They provided emotional support to patients, families and carers." Our dedicated hospital team are passionate about excellent patient care and we offer a range of specialist treatments to patients across Birmingham, Warwickshire and the West Midlands. This includes diagnostic services, rehabilitation, cutting-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, women's health and cancer care. We have 51 bedrooms and five operating theatres.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting with pre-operative assessments including observations
  • Supporting nurses and clinicians in preparing patients for their upcoming procedures
  • Accurately documenting patient information and escalating any concerns
  • Providing reassurance and clear information to patients
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment at all times

Qualifications

  • Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar role within a hospital or clinical setting
  • Private Hospital or NHS Hospital experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in taking basic clinical observations and carrying out phlebotomy procedures
  • Ability to work flexibly across shifts, including weekdays and weekends as required
  • A compassionate, reliable, and professional approach to patient care
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health
