Spire Yale Hospital, Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Porter to join our dynamic and experienced Portering team, working on an as and when basis to help cover sickness and annual leave in our porter team. Spire Yale Hospital is one of North Wales’ leading private hospitals and we take pride in delivering high-quality care. We offer fast access to consultations with specialists in a wide range of treatments, supported by advanced imaging and diagnostic technology.
Working Hours: Various shifts are available from Monday to Friday between 7 am - 9 pm, with the potential for additional shifts on Saturdays as needed. Flexibility is required.
Contract type: Bank/Zero hours
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- To transfer, transport and guide patients safely around the hospital, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner.
- To assist in the safety of patients, staff and consultants.
- To collect and deliver clean and dirty linen.
- Responsible for the team's safe management of the collection and disposal of waste, both domestic and clinical in line with corporate and hospital policy.
- To ensure team's compliance with all Health & Safety at Work Regulations.
- To ensure Medical Gases are checked & ordered ‘in time’ for a safe continuation of service.
- To ensure the service corridor is kept clear and tidy at all times.
- To assist with the general security of the hospital and associated grounds and report any security problems to the Senior Management team.
- Report any maintenance issues to the Maintenance department via Pirana.
Who are we looking for?
- Whilst no formal qualifications are required you must be able to communicate with other members of staff and patients clearly and your personal appearance must be of a high standard, expected in a professional healthcare environment.
- A clean driving licence is essential.
- Experience of delivering frontline customer service and working in a similar environment.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent customer care skills.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Full and current UK driving licence.
- Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends.
