Spire South Bank Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a Chemotherapy Registered Nurse to join the Oncology Department on the flexible staffing bank.
As a Chemotherapy Specialist Nurse you are responsible for delivering nursing services to patients within the unit.
Act as key worker and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to help create and maintain a robust oncology and chemotherapy outpatient service.
Duties and responsibilities
- To provide exemplary planned care for patients and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in Oncology Day Chemotherapy Centre.
Care of cancer patients receiving Systemic Anti- Cancer Therapy (SACT).
- Assess patients’ health and wellbeing across a complex and changing caseload of cancer patients.
- Assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals’ health and wellbeing needs throughout the cancer treatment pathway.
- Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information related to cancer patient care.
- Who we’re looking for
- NMC registered – your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions.
- Have a minimum of 1‑2 years’ experience working in an Oncology/Haematology setting.
- Competent in venepuncture, phlebotomy and cannulation and the use of CVADs.
- Evidence of SACT competency.
- UK Oncology Nurse Society (UKONS) SACT passport.
- Post registration study in cancer care or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
- Compassionate and patient advocate.
- Excellent communication skills, organised and can showcase excellent patient care.
