Spire Liverpool Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Theatre Scheduler / NHS Co-ordinator to join our dynamic and experienced hospital administration team on a bank/zero hours basis.
This is a combined position, supporting both theatre scheduling and NHS pathway co-ordination as and when required.
The role will help provide flexible cover during busy periods, sickness and annual leave, and will play an important part in ensuring the smooth running of patient administration, theatre planning and NHS activity across the hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Supporting the day-to-day organisation of theatre schedules, including reviewing theatre lists for accuracy and updating Outlook diaries.
- Acting as a first point of contact for consultants, medical secretaries, patients and internal hospital teams, ensuring queries are handled professionally and effectively.
- Working with the Capacity Manager and Capacity and Utilisation Manager to support theatre planning, capacity meetings and NHS pathway administration.
- Supporting NHS contract requirements and helping to monitor NHS patient pathways, including RTT targets and 18-week breach management.
- Monitoring and updating patient trackers, outcomes and appointment information to help ensure patients are treated within allocated timeframes.
- Liaising with patients to arrange appointments, TCI dates and outpatient appointments, helping to prevent pathway delays or breaches.
- Supporting theatre scheduling activity, including ad hoc theatre sessions, short-notice cancellations, anaesthetist scheduling and Theatre Kit Co-ordinator liaison regarding kit and prosthesis requirements.
- Screening booking forms for proposed operations, identifying where additional equipment, loans, specialist or bespoke kit may be required and escalating appropriately.
- Maintaining accurate patient administration records and ensuring all processes are completed in a timely, compliant and confidential manner.
- Communicating with other hospitals, GP surgeries, medical secretaries, consultants and internal colleagues by telephone and email where required.

- Previous experience in an administrative support role, ideally within healthcare or a hospital environment.
- Experience of working with data, trackers, computer-based systems and Microsoft Office packages
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a confident and professional telephone manner.
- A flexible approach to working hours and duties, with the ability to support different departments when required.
- A high level of accuracy, discretion and respect for confidential patient information.
